how could Trixie NOT instill a love of reading, I ask you?!!

I can still remember my JOY at finding old old (well, to 10 year old ME they were old) hard cover copies of Trixie books I hadn't read at the used bookstore near my house. They were always about 25cents, and I could buy them out of my allowance! ;).

(I never told MOm, but last year, when I named one of the lambs Honey, SHE thought it was because of the lamb's connection with a friend who produces honey. Which was part of it. But it was ALSO hommage to Honey Wheeler ;) Honey has grown into a BEAUTIFUL ewe, of course -- sweet and pretty and lovely and tough ;)
